As Canada’s immigration and visa processing system continues to evolve, the likelihood of technical difficulties also increases. Regrettably, this has recently been the case for both the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
On February 10th, 2023, the OINP announced its intention to nominate NOC 73300 Transport Truck Drivers, among other eligible occupations, under the Ontario Nomination Program. The score range for this round of nominations was 260-489, and many truck drivers were eagerly waiting to receive their nomination through this draw.
However, on Feb 13, 2023, the OINP issued a clarification that NOC 73300 was not selected in this draw. The clarification came in response to an inquiry made by an immigration consultant. Upon reviewing the OINP website, it was confirmed that the information had been updated to reflect this change.
It appears that this was a technical issue on the part of the OINP, which is unfortunate news for the truck drivers who were eagerly awaiting their nomination. This serves as a timely reminder of the importance of staying informed and up-to-date with the latest information from government agencies such as IRCC and OINP. Technical difficulties may occur, but staying informed can help minimize their impact on the application process.
